Welcome to the “New and Improved” Shane's Mohawk Productions (now also known as Brian Holland Music)!
I finally made the leap to a new server, Bandzoogle, which is SO MUCH NICER than my old digs. Bandzoogle is truly built for musicians, so it allows me to highlight my music in new and exciting ways.
For instance, the old way was a) make a recording, b) purchase 1,000 CDs, c) try to sell said CDs.
I can tell you that, after following this formula for almost two decades, the two main things I have to show for it are an overstuffed office upstairs, and an under-stuffed bank account downtown.
But, with my brand new site, I can offer digital downloads either as stand-alones or in addition to physical CD / Vinyl sales. I can offer access to recordings that I no longer have stock of, or are only available on truly antiquated formats (i.e. cassettes), but can now be perpetually available in digital format. My hope is that my office will steadily become less stuffed, and my bank account the opposite.
(Although, let's face it, if I'm in the business of “Ragtime and Jazz Piano Player” for the money, I've made a ginormous tactical error in career choice. As a dear friend once said, “The only way to become a millionaire playing this kind of music is to start with two million, and work your way backwards.”)
Anyway, I hope you take some time to look around. My plan is to continue to find new and exciting ways of “getting my music out there,” so there should be changes / additions happening relatively frequently.
